Carl Smith transitioned to the private sector in 2023 following a 12-year career in Law Enforcement. A veteran SWAT Operator and Team Leader, Carl commanded a wide range of high-stakes operations, including high-profile Dignitary Protection details for the President of the United States and other government officials.
As part of the Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO) program, Carl provided expert consulting and comprehensive threat assessments for schools, religious institutions, and large-scale corporate entities. He specializes in the integration of technical K9 assets—including ESD, firearms, and narcotics detection—with real-world risk mitigation strategies. His focus is on hardening facility security and reducing liability through proven, high-tier security protocols.

BRANDON IURATO
TRAINING DIRECTOR | LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Brandon Iurato is the Training Director for Paragon Service Group and a nationally experienced trainer, speaker, and former law enforcement professional. With more than 20 years of experience in leadership development and public speaking—combined with nearly two decades in law enforcement—Brandon brings a rare combination of real-world instructional expertise to our team.
Prior to joining Paragon, Brandon served as a School Resource Officer in Cottonwood, Arizona, where he specialized in youth safety, substance awareness, and campus security. His background includes service with the U.S. Customs Service as a K-9 Enforcement Officer and Instructor, as well as the U.S. Air Force Security Police.
In the private sector, Brandon has served as a Director of Training for a Fortune 200 corporation and is the author of Mind Karate. At Paragon, he leads our high-impact training programs, ensuring our clients are prepared, aware, and effective.
